What is it About Men in Suits?
My husband rarely wears suits. But I always think how smart he looks when he does. It’s only something he bothers with for weddings or high-profile meetings. Sadly, with both in short supply I am missing my suit fix.
I was looking at suitsmen and felt inspired. I think he would look very dapper in a summer suit. He is a non-medical partner at a doctor’s surgery so it wouldn’t hurt him to look the part occasionally. Sometimes he goes quite casual and rolls up his sleeves and wears jeans and trainers (heaven forbid!).
End of An Era?
Some articles are saying it’s the end of the suit era as people have more freedom with the clothes they wear for work. Personally, rightly or wrongly I feel in more capable hands if someone is dressed professionally. I remember once I had a medical examination when I was pregnant and was rather alarmed to notice the doctor had two different shoes on! Call me conventional but at the very least I think your shoes should match…
If we start adding lots of personality to our wardrobes it can be a little unsettling. Especially in the case of the mismatched shoes! Meaning I was tense before he started. I think a classic look errs on the safe side. Personally I am a little disheartened that the list of best dressed men includes less people in suits than I would like!
I don’t think James Bond would be quite the same if he was in his casual clothes. The well cut suit makes him look so masculine. Yes, it probably wouldn’t be the same if it hung off him, but a good tailor is everything!
“A well tailored suit is to women what lingerie is to men.” H.M. Cole.

I think this quote is so true. So, I for one don’t think we will see an end of the suit era. Especially as suits are even more sought after than uniformed men in dating apps. Apparently, women take more interest if a man is suited and booted!
“Men wearing formal clothes are perceived as being more serious by potential partners and thereby more attractive.”
Something to bear in mind if you have ever planned to sign yourself up to Tinder. Don’t opt for a terrible outfit put some thought into it. A suit looks like you can hold down a job and function as a decent human being with proper responsibilities. A suit can make a man look affluent, steady and reliable.
It’s more than just the suit too. By wearing it a man’s body language changes they become more confident.
Do you feel the same about men in suits?
