Colour Brain Review and Giveaway
(Gifted) We were kindly sent Colour Brain from Big Potato Games to review. We love playing board games and this title was lots of fun. I found it very educational. We all learnt a lot as we played. Like the first colour a baby can see or the colour of a famous pirate. You have 11 colour cards in total.
You use the provided colour cards to answer the questions, some questions will need multiple colours others just one. The questions cover lots of different topics, like history, science, entertainment. We liked the variety.
We played in two teams. Youngest and hubby and eldest and me. My team lost; I think I need to brush up my general knowledge before the rematch. The winning team had a 7-point lead!
Colour Catcher Card
We did use our Colour Catcher card to steal some of their cards for one round! I think we could have timed using this element of the game better. When you both get a question right the point rolls over. We got to three points being rolled over at that point it would have be good to use our Colour Catcher card as it would have meant the other team might not have had the colours they needed to answer the question correctly and we would have been in a better position to get all those lovely points! We were lucky in that we had an 8 card steal card which is quite impressive, it doesn’t leave the other team with much to work with on that round.
My eldest had a good instinct when it came to choose the right colour answer, I just thought I knew better! Next game I am letting him take the lead.
The game is very simple to set up and play. I am looking forward to playing it again soon. I think its great as you can have lots of people join in.

A childhood game called Exploration. I used to be fascinated by a dice that told you how you could move your playing piece in ways like chess pieces. And I never thought I would actually see some of the featured sites…..!
We are big fans of Ticket To Ride in our house as it is simple to learn and everyone can join in
We love quirkle and Catalan as they require strategy but we’ve yet to beat our ten year old grandson

Scrabble – I love word games
Guess Who, my little ones love it
Ours is frustration as so easy and all ages can play together
My favourite game is Scrabble, I love finding new words and find it really relaxing.
We love playing bananagrams. It’s a faced paced spelling game.
Kids are hooked on ‘Go For Broke’, not as easy as it sounds to loose all your money, and the rules are so straight forward and easy to follow.
We like Frustration for all ages to join in, or Monopoly if we have a few spare weeks!
We love Trivial Pursuit because it’s a lot of fun.
Upwords because I like word games, it’s similar to scrabble but better.
I like Payday, a game i now play with my grandchildren but used to enjoy it with my own children when they were young
I love cluedo because it gets us all thinking hard!
Has to be monopoly. Had many games lasting days or even weeks. As long as my brother was able to buy Mayfair the board remained..
Monopoly, because, like pool, everyone has their own rules about playing it. My favourite is all the fines go in the middle and whoever lands on free parking gets the lot

Monopoly hotels – it is so much fun but not as long as monopoly
Our favourite is old fashioned Snakes and Ladders. It is simple to play and, as a game of chance not skill, everyone in the family can play and enjoy it.
I’ve always loved Ludo because it was simple and caused less arguments than Monopoly!
Trivial Pursuit, we’ve had so much fun playing this on Christmas day night, over the years. So many fond memories and lots of laughter
Scrabble for the fun with my partner and nostalgia
Me & my daughter like frustration as it is easy to play and keeps my daughter interested in playing. A new one we have tried which my daughter also loves is hedbanz.
I like scrabble, because it makes me think and it is interesting to try and learn some new words along the way
We love exploding kittens, even the kids understand it. It’s a great game for the family!
As a child I used to love 20 questions. Simply an object on a card and you had 20 questions (Y or N) to discover what was on the card. We now really enjoy the upgraded version which is more sophisticated but based on the original. I’m competitive and like to win and this game lets me use my fairly extensive general knowledge to good effect.
I like boggle because it can be as long or short as you like, is very portable and is great for kids learning new small words and spellings of those words
I love Frustration because it’s so hard to stay cool!
I love Game of Life. It’s great playing it with my little girl. She loves to try and have as many babies as possible!

We love Dobble. It’s great to play with kids but a completely different and competitive game with adults!

Trivial Pursuit – because there are so many different versions, it’s good fun to each pick a set of questions and quiz eachother on our specialist subjects
we love Scrabble . . . . we can play just adults, just the kids, teams . . . and we learn new words too
We love snakes and ladders because the children are young, its great practice to learn how to take turns and how to lose, without crying hopefully!

Game of Life – we played it all the time as kids and now I play with my niece and nephew.
I loved Heroquest as it was so involved & complex – we used to have 3 hour games on Sunday afternoons.

Our favourite board game is Monopoly, there’s just so many fun variations these days. At the moment we are enjoying the Fortnite edition
My daughter and I discovered what I imagine is the German version of Trivial Pursuit -called Wissen (I think!) – when we were on holiday in Switzerland last summer – we love Trivial Pursuit but she’s learning German and mine used to be good but is now very rusty so it was double the fun trying to work out what the questions even meant before answering them. Definitely the fave game on holiday.
I like playing dominoes as its a good family game

Monopoly voice bank has revolutionised monopoly games in our house, it has eliminated all arguments and we know know when the game ends rather than it going on forever resulting in someone tipping the board up in temper of going bankrupt!

We love to play monopoly and cluedo. I would love to win this as all my daughter has asked for for her birthday is new board games so this would be perfect

We love Ticket to ride and all the expansions. Each game has a different dynamic. it’s fun for all the family.
We love Cranium, something for everyone. I love the creative challenges and my husband loves the problem solving ones.

My all time favourite board game has to be snakes and ladders! You never know what the dice is going to roll. I play this with my after school club children and they enjoy it as much as I do. It’s a classic!

We love board games and have regular “Game Nights” (beats mindlessly watching TV every night), our favourites include Monopoly but even the basics like Operation, Snakes & Ladders and Hungry Hippos – anything to mix things up and laugh a little
Pictionary , its always fun… people of all ages can play … All you really need is a piece of paper, a pen and some friends/family
I really enjoy Scrabble. I like playing seriously against my hubby where we are both super competitive and always challenge each other’s words, but I also love playing with 9 year old Daisy, where I help by suggesting words. Daisy’s spelling is great. She often gets 10/10 in her spelling tests at school and I’m convinced that the Scrabble helps. Leo is still too young to even recognise the letters yet, but he likes to stack the tiles on top of each other and build towers with them. It’s not quite the objective of the game, but if he’s playing quietly – who cares?

My all time favourite game is cranium. It works with 4 people and it works with 24 people. There is something for everyone too. I’ve always had so much fun playing it.

Trivial Pursuit
oooh this sounds like an interesting game. Not seen it before. I love ingenious because it is not getting the lowest score that matters rather than just getting highest scores. I’m always rubbish at it but its fun to play.
The board game Frustration – we used to play it with my Gran so it’s got some great memories. Plus the pressing the middle popper thing to ‘roll’ the dice seemed such an amazing invention when I was little.
We love Cluedo – it lasts about the right amount of time, and it doesn’t upset anyone to lose – because everyone who doesn’t guess first feels like they’re not that far behind xx

I absolutely LOVE Dingbats! I used to play it with my parents and their friends when I was a kid and feel really grown up, especially when I got the answers before the adults! lol

I used to love Stratego when I was a kid, I think I’ve still got it somewhere!
