Win Four Instant Books with Welbeck Publishing
Another set of books I am finding extremely helpful for my eldest is the Instant Books Series from Welbeck Publishing. We were sent Instant Mathematics, Science, Engineering and History with an RRP of £14.99 each. Each book covers key information, facts and figures and theories and developments.
Every single page of these incredible books are jam packed with useful info. You have timelines and important dates. All the facts are broken down into manageable chunks of text. Making it an accessible book for secondary school children.
You feel like you are getting a crash course in each of the four subjects. Perfect if you are worried about your child slipping behind in these subjects. I am especially glad of the Science and History Instant Books to boost my boys understanding.
Each of the concise books soon makes you feel more knowledgeable. We all had a greater awareness of lots of different concepts. Plenty of topics are included in each book. Instant Engineering covered things like bicycles, submarines, the wheel, and thermodynamics and…
Toilet Roll!
I was quite interested in the toilet paper section of the Instant Engineering book. “Bums were cleaned with items ranging from sponge on sticks (ancient romans), to wool or cotton (rich Europeans) to corn cobs (colonial Americans)” – might be handy If you run out and want some inspiration! Although I think I will pass on the dried corn cobs!
Instant History covered wars, historical figures, and significant events. It was hard reading about The Black Death (20 million deaths across Europe) and Spanish Flu (25-50 million deaths worldwide) but it does go to show that humans have gone on and endured in the face of adversity. I had not realized that Spanish flu was so called because Spain had freely reported about it so ended up being associated with it. Other governments had just kept quiet during the war for the sake of morale.
Instant Science had topics like evolution, black holes, circulation of blood and photosynthesis. Whilst Instant Mathematics covered Binary numbers, algorithms, prime numbers, and exponentiation to name but a few of the many fascinating areas covered.
