Humble Brush Review and Giveaway
I was quite excited to try out Humble Brush products. They had me with the tag line “for healthier people, on a healthier planet”. Each of their products have been designed to be kinder to the environment. With July being pitched as a “plastic-free month” I thought it would be a great idea to quickly introduce you to the brand! This month people all around the world are trying to cut back on single use plastics and what better way than trying a bamboo toothbrush for the first time.
Humble Brush aims to be as eco-friendly and socially responsible as possible. Plus, their products have been professionally developed by Swedish dentists, so cleans as well as your plastic toothbrush but you don’t have to feel quite so guilty about impacting the environment whilst still having a beautiful smile!
Cutting Back on Landfill
3.6 billion plastic toothbrushes are produced each year, that’s a lot more plastic making its way into landfill. We keep adding to the problem around every three months when we buy another toothbrush. Least with Humble Brush you know the handle and packaging won’t be contributing to the problem. The Humble Brush handle is 100% biodegradable. It is made from sustainably grown bamboo. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants so it’s a fantastic choice. They are available to buy from Holland and Barrett for £3.99 each.
The bristles are made from nylon-6 from Dupont. These apparently keep toothbrushes more hygienic because of its low water absorbing properties. Currently there are no fully compostable bristles apart from boar hair, as a vegan certified company that would not be an acceptable compromise. But you can remove the bristles and then compost or even reprocess the handle! It’s actually really useful for craft projects with the children or as a marker for your vegetable patch.
Their floss picks are primarily made from a corn-starch formula to reduce their impact on the environment. The mint ones made my mouth feel very clean afterwards.
I thought their toothpaste tablets were quite innovative.
They can work out a lot less messy than tubes of toothpaste, plus they are more sustainable than toothpaste tubes. These are only suitable for adults, if you want a Humble Brush toothpaste for your children, they have a Strawberry flavoured natural ingredients toothpaste.
