Weekly update

Week 37 of 2020: Supercars

Now the boys are at school I don’t feel I have as much to write about. I did manage to catch up with a friend for a brisk walk to complete our daily steps quota. We felt so pleased with our progress we then had a cooked breakfast to celebrate – which probably defeated the point! But it was very nice all the same. Most days are passing in a blur, getting the boys things sorted for school. Then catching up with the washing, the rest of the housework and a few blog chores. However, the main highlight of the week had to be supercars.

Finally completed this boat jigsaw. It was quite a challenge. I am pleased I carried on though. I still have another jigsaw to complete but then I might pause jigsaws for a while! Just because I don’t get as many chores done when I am working on one.

Supercars

My eldest son had his supercar experience this week. It was on hold during lockdown, his original date cancelled. So, he was delighted he managed to go finally. He drove a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, an Audi, and a Jaguar. It was a wonderful experience for him. We have lots of lovely photos from the day.

He had some nice compliments about his driving from the instructors, which he was happy about. All the cars were special for their own reasons. Some my son liked for the speed, others for the handling. With the talk of another possible lockdown on its way, I was very pleased we had managed to rearrange before that happened. He did have to be kitted out in gloves and mask when driving, but that’s to be expected given the current circumstances.

We have missed quite a few things over lockdown (as I am sure many other families have too) least his Supercars experience wasn’t one of those things in the end.

Eating Out

Although I mentioned last week about trying to get active, this week I have had a few naughty treats and my good intentions have slipped. We went to TGI Fridays and I had the sesame chicken strips in their gorgeous Jack Daniel’s glaze! Then we went to Creams and I had a very indulgent piece of chocolate fudge cake with cream. The boys had massive ice cream cones.

I loved the flower wall they had in Creams. Naturally, I couldn’t resist a picture.

I don’t think I have anything else to mention. Next week I will have to make sure I take more photos otherwise it will get to the weekend and I will panic I don’t have enough for my next weekly update! Life certainly is very different without my constant companions. Although the house is probably cleaner!
