Week 38 of 2020: Tea and Cake

This week is mainly brought to you by the letters C A K E. Yes it’s been a week full of calories. I probably should feel a little guilty with lots of tea and cake, but I don’t actually have the energy to care! This early morning starts with back to school are exhausting and my plans for a big catch up sleep at the weekend never happen! So, I am making the most of sugar energy to get me through.

Understandably the scales haven’t been so kind, but my stats are all still in the green, so I am not too concerned! I keep getting my 10k steps in a day (and more whenever possible!) but I have neglected my rowing machine this past week. Maybe I can remedy that next week!

Wedding Anniversary

My mum and dad celebrated their wedding anniversary this weekend! Luckily I still had some credit left over from the Moonpig virtual event so I bought them a nice card. They treated us all to fish and chips for a family celebration, so I bought them a nice bunch of flowers as I didn’t want to arrive empty handed.

Tea and Cake

I have been out twice this week for tea and cake! I had a gorgeous lemon cake on the first occasion and Black Forest Gateau on the second. Both cakes were very good! Although I couldn’t quite finish the Black Forest Gateau as the slice was so generous. I hate to leave good cake! But even I was defeated by that portion. I could have done with my buddy Sim to help me out. Mind you she has been very good this week with Keto this week so she might have resisted temptation!

Brownies

We are big fans of the Apprentice so, we finally ordered some baked goods from Ridiculously Rich by Alana. Her gorgeous cakes saw her win back in 2016. Well… she had a special on some gooey chocolate brownies she was testing so they were cheaper than usual! I saw the offer as a sign it was my time to get an order in! But if travel to Aberystwyth at any point I still want to head to the store. The counter display looks amazing. I had planned to take a photo of the brownies but I made a bit of a mess cutting them up, so it’s the box instead I am afraid!

Reviewing

This week my eldest was delighted with a Beano book he was sent to review. He has lots of Beano annuals and magazines dotted around his room already! Also, my blog post about ZENB Veggie Sticks went live, it’s a good thing I had all the goodness of extra vegetables to make up for my cake problem this week!!!

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme

We bought these in week 37 whilst we were in Telford. But we only managed to eat them this week so I took a photo to share with you all! I do miss the Krispy Kreme we visited in Florida though, it had even better varieties.

Walk and Ice Cream

I met a friend and we had a nice long walk but we rewarded ourselves with an ice cream afterwards! I don’t think I quite get the concept of cutting back on the wrong foods yet! If I have put my steps in I like to have a treat!!!

Park Time

My youngest and I had a fab time at the park on the outdoor exercise equipment. The sun was shining and it was wonderful spending some quality time together.
