Week 46 of 2020: Metal Detecting And A Meal Out
This week has been pretty uneventful to the point I was a little worried about what on earth I could mention in this post. I didn’t get out for a nice walk like in Week 45 and scrolling through my phone I was a little concerned with how few photos I took of the week. Fortunately, my youngest son decided to go metal detecting today. So that was something a bit more interesting to add to my update. Otherwise its been housework, homework, and blog work.
Blog Work
Finally, according to Yoast all my posts are now green with a good SEO score. It’s been a bit of a project getting through all of them. But it felt like a huge achievement. I dread to think how many hours of my life I have devoted to getting it sorted but I got there in the end!
I have also discovered categories thanks to Sim before then everything used to be under “blogging”. Yes, I had a lot to learn and was very late to the game being well over eight years in before finally adding them! In terms of gift guides, Christmas gifts for her and Christmas gifts for men went live. I also launched a competition to win a bundle of Be:Loved luxury products for pets (that pet owners can use too!).
My blog workload feels a little lighter now. Anyone working on gift guides will know it’s a bit of a relief when you get them done and dusted. Just the children’s gift guide to go. Hopefully, I will tell you in my next update that I have actually written it. That is if I can stop getting distracted with my categories for long enough to get writing. Once categories are sorted, I need to get my head round tags! Blog maintenance never ends…
Metal Detecting
Although it was more rusty finds and a grand haul total of 2p my son still enjoyed himself. We keep hoping we will find real treasure, something a bit more noteworthy. But I don’t think metal detecting is going to make us rich anytime soon! On the plus side at least by digging up all those rusty things my son is actually making the beach cleaner in the process. It’s nice we are doing our bit for the environment!
Eating Out
Now we have more freedom as the Firebreak is over, I thought we better eat out whilst we still had a chance. Who knows what might change from week to week? It was good to support a local pub and the food was delicious.
Brownies
My youngest son made brownies. It’s nice my children are now baking just like their dad. I have such a sweet tooth and baked goods always make me happy! Plus, the cold weather is making me want to eat more cake than usual.
My poor rowing machine is looking quite dusty now no-one is using it anymore! Am hoping we will feel more energized soon to go back to our healthy eating and exercise routine. Although my husband and eldest son have now returned to kickboxing!
The metal detecting sounds like fun!

Nicely done youngest dude for the metal detecting – I hadn’t thought about it as cleaning up the beach. but it’s a win-win all round! Get him out there when you can! As for the brownies, they look AMAZING! Well done!
Nicely done on sorting out all the greens too… I’m a tad bit behind :/ but you have worked so hard on it. If only we had known everything we do now right from the start, our lives would be so much easier AND we would actually have time to chill in the evenings! 😉

Those brownies look really good. My brother used to do a lot of metal detecting, and did find some treasure on farmland, and some interesting items on beaches in Scotland. Usually on the farm he finds old bits that fell of the farm machinery, and coke ring pulls from our wedding years ago!
We tried metal detecting and didn’t find a thing so that fact you found 2p is a win! Yay for the end of the light with the gift guides. I am also super impressed you have all the green posts. I still have tons to do. I am not sure my week will be very interesting this week. Glad you managed to eat out.

OoOOoooOoO metal detecting, what was he able to find? Great job cleaning the beach around all that hard work. Great job on organising your blog; categories does make the blog more presentable and easier to go through. Before I thought tags were sufficient but categories helps me as a blogger to know what my writings come under. The food does look tempting
