Week 45 of 2020: Bonfire Night and Baking
Now we are almost at the end of our second week of the firebreak I am looking forward to Monday and a little bit more freedom again. Although I don’t know how long it will last… I might have to make the most of it in case its short lived! This week we are enjoyed our version of Bonfire Night, we have completed a jigsaw, had a lengthy walk, and enjoyed my husband’s gorgeous homemade chocolate cake. Alongside all that I have had my eldest son home-schooling this week. Wales decided all year 9, 10 and 11 classes should stay at home an extra week after half term for the firebreak. So its back to normal next week hopefully!
Blog Work
Luckily, I have still managed to complete some blog work and keep things ticking over with all that going on. Two new competitions have launched, so please check them out if your feeling lucky! I have the fun Popcorn Poppin´ Game and a fabulous Sensilift beauty device worth £179 to giveaway. Also, over on my Instagram page I have a two bottles of limited edition strawberry swirl family hand wash to giveaway (it smells gorgeous!).

I think its two more deliveries to go and then hopefully I will be all steam ahead for my Christmas gift guides. Fingers crossed you might have more info on those by my next weekly update!
Bonfire Night

For bonfire night the boys had glow sticks and sparklers. They also enjoyed watching a bonus display from the window that someone else had put on. It was nice but probably not quite as exciting as our Halloween celebrations. Although they did go crazy with the glow sticks the pack came with frames to make glasses and hats and the house was full of laughter as they messed about in the dark!
Takeout
We had southern fried chicken and chips takeout this week. I had mine with a side of homemade coleslaw and it was all so tasty!

Autumn Walk
We had a lovely walk and appreciated the autumn colours. I was grateful for a long stretch and much better weather as we seem to have been cooped up a lot lately. Check out my feature picture to see the beautiful blue sky! Not bad for November.
Baking

My husband made a gorgeous chocolate cake that was quickly devoured! Don’t be too jealous though, he bakes to try and get back on my good side when he has annoyed me… Although I am easily placated with cake!
Jigsaw

My neighbour loaned me a jigsaw quite a while back. I am glad we finally managed to complete it. It was quite tricky as it was a WASJIG? jigsaw where you only have a picture of before something happens (in this case everyone enjoying a BBQ before the weather changed!). It makes completing it a lot more challenging when the picture can’t guide you properly. It just gives you a general idea. The jigsaw took me so long that Sim managed to put up her flat pack furniture and organise everything by the time I was done!

What a lovely autumnal picture, hoping your firebreak has been successful for Wales. The chicken and coleslaw sounds lovely and that’s a fab cake your husband baked
I love Wasgij puzzles. That one was a good one.
Hopefully schools stay back in – back to home schooling isn’t something I fancy having to do again.
I hope things go OK with getting a little more freedom after the firebreak.
That strawberry swirl handwash sounds so good.
It sounds like you’s had fun on Bonfire night.
That chocolate cake looks delicious. Well done your hubby! x
It only took me 30 minutes to build the Kallax, I’m a dab hand now. If all else fails, I shall hire myself out to build flat pack furniture! 😉
That cake looks amazing, I’m all for anything chocolate orange right now, just a shame my hips aren’t. :/ As for the Southern Fried chicken, I could eat that every day if allowed, my go to comfort food of all time!
What a fabulous Autumn walk and it was great you could still get out, even with your crazy lockdown. All slightly mad now and the news gets more depressing by the day. We need some happy news! Glad you had a fab time on Bonfire Night, glow sticks rock! Sim x
That’s a beautiful autumnal picture. Hope you are able to enjoy a bit more normality this week. Sounds like the boys had a lot of fun with the glow sticks on bonfire night. That chocolate cake looks amazing. I’d quite like to be placated with cake – sadly my husband’s baking skills are non-existent! #project366
lol at the baking as he has annoyed you….mine is very good at crawling back as well usually by making the tea. It does look lovely though.
Love the autumn picture, sounds like you have kept buy with one thing and another.
I would struggle without the correct picture on a jigsaw.
I am away to look at your competitions
That chocolate cake looks great! Wish mine would bake when I was annoyed…I would get a lot of cake!
Oh that jigsaw looks tough.
I love WASGIJ puzzles but haven’t completed one in a while. That cake looks divine! #366
I have not tried a WASGIJ before but they sound really hard. The cake looks good, love that it is how your husband apologies. Good luck with the gift guides, mine are live now but I keep getting bits turning up that I had forgotten about. Ooops!
OooOoO bonfire night. I love Sparklers, although I feel scared that one of those sparks would fall on my eye. That’s a nice place to walk. OoOoO fried chicken and chips. The chocolate cake looks delicious, awww so sweet of him to bake a cake to cheer you up. Cool jigsaw and interesting that the picture reference isn’t clear
Me and my mum have been doing WASGIJ since they started years ago: love them! Cake looks good and I am about to ask my hubby if we can have a takeaway! #project366
I’m finally catching up on comments and am way way behind, but it’s quite nice looking back at autumn scenes! The colours in the top picture are lovely and it was great to hear you had fun on Bonfire night. I’ve just bought some of those glow sticks for the kids to have fun with over Christmas! That cake, wow ! He must have been in the seriously bad books ! 😉
