Week 3 of 2021: The Plastering Is Complete
Well, another week of lockdown life, it feels like we are living our own version of Groundhog day! But the days pass and the home-school tasks get done. The builders finished plastering this week, so next week my house is my own! Our landing and hallway look better but we still need the plaster to dry and to do a mist count to see what we are really dealing with.
Renovations
My husband has a lot of painting ahead of him. But the plaster still has some drying to do, so he was excused from painting duties for the time being. I can’t wait to see how much brighter the place will look with a fresh coat of paint. The walls and ceiling were really in a dreadful way before. Sadly when it dried and we put on our mist coat it was still quite rough, I regret getting it done if I am completely honest! Plus plastering is messy work, I am still mopping and hoovering trying to get the house dust free again! It really does get everywhere. So the feature picture is my lovely dog not my dusty house!
Without lockdown I don’t think we would have got cracking with the renovation work. Given the choice I always pick holidays usually. So, lockdown has has forced our hand to finally get our house sorted! But I am missing Florida, my favourite go to destination.
Homemade Pizza Night Returns
We had another homemade pizza night like last week. But this time I had chorizo, chicken, red onion, and BBQ sauce. It was so good. Here is a picture of mine before it went in the oven.
We then watched a film on the projector. This time it was Vampires v’s The Bronx which everyone seemed to enjoy.
Chocolate Treats
My neighbour gave the boys some left over Christmas treats. They were delighted and made light work of them that very day!
Keeping with the theme of chocolate treats the boys also made their own chocolate bars this week. I think they had crushed digestives, Oreo’s and toffees in this creation! It’s taking ALL my willpower continuing to be good when the boys get through so much chocolate each week!
Walks
I have been trying to get us out for some fresh air every day. The boys are always quite reluctant at the time. But they do seem to be glad of it afterwards. However, come rain or shine the dog is pleased to be out. Always wagging her tail as she walks!
Blogging
I got another competition live this time to win a lolly maker and a chocolate maker. There will be three winners getting both products so a nice prize worth entering. We have been reviewing another board game so I will get that competition live next week. I also had a blog post go live about conserving electricity which might be a useful read especially with so many of us at home it does get much more expensive.
My son would be in heaven with those treats! Lucky boys. I have so much paint work to do here but I just can’t build up the enthusiasm to start it. That pizza looks really good #365

Ooh I love a terry’s chocolate orange. Glad the house stuff is progressing. We could do with work being done on ours, but whenever I’ve organised stuff it’s always gone wrong, so I leave it to the OH who never thinks it’s important. The pizza looks great.

We always put holidays over the house and are missing Florida too. We should be booking this year to return next but I can’t book anything with all this going on. Look at all that chocolate! Lockdown isn’t helping my waistline that’s for sure ;0) #365
Great news that plastering is done. When we needed the plastering jobs, I remember the dust was absolutely everywhere around the house, even in closed wardrobes.
Chocolate treats are always a bonus. The pizza sounds like a good combination of flavours.
I am with you, I also tend to favour holidays over home renovations but we really don’t have much choice at the moment. Although most of ours are quite superficial compared to yours. Yay for pizza and for chocolate gifts. Sounds like you have been busy on the blog. Hope you have had a better week

The monotony of lockdwon is just like groundhog day! I just want something spontaneous or something to look forward to! We are still looking for our forever home but considering getting an extension instead so we may have home decor to sort… #project365
I think we’re spending so much time inside our homes that we can’t help but to make repairs and get things sorted out at last. All that chocolate looks and sounds yummy.
