What a year it has been. But we have had some wonderful memories to keep our spirits high. I have enjoyed writing my weekly updates so I can return to those good times. However, I don’t really mind saying goodbye to 2020. Fingers crossed that next year will see days out and travel returning in earnest, I think we all have a lot of making up to do.

Happy New Year!

We had a lovely roast beef dinner to celebrate the dawning of a New Year! It was quite lowkey otherwise with just a board game and a film. We managed to catch some fireworks through our window at midnight, which was a welcome bonus. New Year’s Eve was my last day of eating whatever I pleased, so now I am struggling with sugar cravings. It is hard going staying away from ALL the chocolate that remains. Although my husband is making quite light work of it!

Crystal Art

This week I finally managed to do the Crystal Art owl set I featured in my Christmas gift guide. I was so pleased with how they look. I might add them to Christmas cards next year. It was probably my sugar cravings that spurned me on to do this activity. You see spending hours with the fiddling little crystals kept my mind focused, so I didn’t reach for something chocolatey!

Bubble Tea

A highlight for my youngest was trying out the bubble tea kit he was gifted at Christmas by his grandparents. Whenever we go away, we always make a point of having bubble tea. So, it’s something he has really missed with all the time spent in lockdown. The kit was just as nice as the ones we have enjoyed in the past. So, its lovely he can recreate the experience at home. The Build You Own Bubble set cost my parents £17.99 (including delivery). It included enough to make four bubble teas. So definitely check out the Bubble Panda if you are also missing bubble tea!

Blogging

It’s been another quiet week since my last weekly update. But my campaign with LEGO went live which my boys really enjoyed. Read all about their Build The Change platform which includes educational and fun activities for kids to try at home. Now we have said goodbye to 2020 I am hoping work will pick up again!

Searching For Snow

We decided to go for a walk in the mountains on the look out for snow. It wasn’t as thick as we hoped but the boys were delighted with the dusting of white anyway (and had a little snowball fight!). My husband is so lovely he always makes me a flask of tea to warm me up as he knows I don’t cope well in cold weather.

Board Game

We played Meeple Circus this week. It’s quite fun, you have to try and complete circus acts to score points using balanced acrobats, a strong man and various circus animals. I got extra points (from a special card) because my camel wasn’t on the floor of the circus ring. Ideally you want your red acrobat as high off the floor as possible as you score more based on his height! You can get an app so you have the circus music playing as you build. But its quite fast paced, you don’t have long!

Santa’s Upgraded Sleigh

For school homework my youngest had to design a new updated sleigh for Santa, I really love what he came up with!
