Food, Giveaways

Earth & Wheat Bread Box Delivery Competition

I really enjoyed receiving my Earth & Wheat bread box delivery to feature on Instagram. But I also really wanted to team up with the company to offer an exciting giveaway here on my blog. I know how much you guys would love the idea too! It’s such an interesting concept and it feels great knowing you can actively play a part tackling food waste just by ordering these lovely bread boxes.

What is Included?

For £6.99 a week you can enjoy a box of fresh (slightly wonky) bread delivered to your door from UK bakeries. There is a good selection, and plenty is included. We had two packets of Tortillas, two lots of pancakes, Foccacia and pitta. We couldn’t wait to tuck in and try everything. Naturally, the boys made a beeline for the pancakes!

The contents can alter slightly week to week, so Wednesdays will never be the same again once you sign up for regular deliveries. I quite like the look of the crumpets, wonky or not they look absolutely perfect to me! Other times you might end up with naans or flatbreads. It’s quite thrilling that element of surprise.

Communication wise I was kept well-informed about my delivery. I had an email telling me when it was on its way and another letting me know the time it reached its destination.

Cutting Back on Food Waste

I was shocked to read that the UK throw away 24 million pieces of bread every day!!! Apparently, bread is the second most wasted edible food in the UK. But Earth & Wheat don’t want to stop there with the good intentions, they even donate a meal to a UK food bank with every bread box you order.

I literally love everything about this company. They really want to make a difference. Thanks to Earth & Wheat a lot less bread will be thrown away just because its size or appearance isn’t quite right, or a bread product has been overproduced. The founder of the company James Eid is an inspiration he really is, only twenty years old and already on a mission to fight food waste.

Also for customers it’s a fantastic system too. You have the convenience of bread being delivered to your door! Especially if you’re not keen making as many trips to the shops at the moment. The products can be frozen, so you do not have to worry about them being short dated.  Although I didn’t think that the 18th was too bad, I have had Tesco deliveries with bread products that run out the very next day. So, five days seemed reasonable.
