Weekly update

Week 16: Easter Adventures kayaking and castles

I think I have managed to skip three weeks since my last weekly update when I mentioned our Romanian rescue arriving. I am glad I am finally sitting down and managing to squeeze in another update. We have been up to some lovely things including trying kayaking and gorge walking and I wanted to share it here to keep the memories safe.

Bella and Summer

Since the last update, Bella and Summer continue to get on well. They will even drink water out of the same bowl which is wonderful progress. Here is a picture of the two of them snuggled up on our bed, content in each others company.

Bella certainly enjoys her home comforts now. I am so glad we rescued her and can fill each of her days with happiness now. We recently introduced her to doggy ice cream, which she loved!

Easter Adventures

We couldn’t get up to much as my eldest works in the holidays. But we did manage to visit a castle with our youngest which was also hosting a medieval event. It was nice to learn a bit about falconry and how they used to make swords.

After I had a lovely slice of coffee cake in the cafe. Life is always better with cake!

Another day of the holidays we went to Costco to stock up on treats. Into the trolley went a tray of scones and another of hot cross buns. Added to that was a big chocolate Easter cake, a rocky road cookie dough pudding and some breakfast pastries. We always get a little carried away when we visit, we really can’t help ourselves. Everything always looks so tempting. Then we headed to Chiquito, I love their BBQ chicken and pulled pork fajitas they are so good.

In the beginning of the Easter break we went kayaking and gorge walking. Gorge walking was freezing but its nice to have ticked it off the to do list. Kayaking I preferred and we had a bit of fun with a few games on the water, but my arms ached afterwards. It was a three hour session so I didn’t know if I would have the energy to row back to shore by the end of it… although it is good to challenge yourself!

Blogging

I have had a few more blog posts go live, why you should limit your child’s screen time has made me realize yet again why we need to cut back a bit! My two would spend each and every day gaming if they had the chance. I have a lovely competition live to win a Mindfulness Remedies personalised remedy. This company has really impressed me, I love the concept. We all lead such stressful lives so being able to concoct your own personalised remedy that helps you with exactly how your feeling really appealed to me.

Wins

I have had a couple more wins, the other week there were two pretty nice wins. A magnum of rosé wine, which I found out was worth £70! Definitely one to save for Christmas. Thank you to the Wine Caverns for that fab prize.

Then I had a John Lewis hamper box from HiQ Tyres & Autocare, full of a few edible treats. Plus, it had a lovely bottle of sparkling rosé in it which I took along to a picnic with my friend.

Then this week just two small ones, this time a children’s book and a pack of Pet Munchies natural dog chew sticks.

What Else?

We have been house hunting. We missed out on a gorgeous house I loved so much. However the other people were more proceedable than us. It was perfect and I felt really deflated afterwards. But hey ho, hopefully the next dream house is just around the corner, otherwise we will have no choice but to stay where we are.

Luckily I still have plenty to cheer me up, including going out for a lovely cooked breakfast and shopping with my mum and a meal out for a friend’s birthday.
