Weekly update

Week 26: Chester, Segway, A Birthday and Eating Out

I haven’t joined in the weekly update for a really long time, not since my eldest drove a fire truck back in May. I am missing not doing them too. My phone is filled with pictures intended for the update. I just haven’t found the time to write a post. So, I thought I would try and remedy that today and let you know what we have been up too over the last six weeks. Sorry if it’s a bumper edition update. I have plenty to include like a trip to Chester and our Segway experience.

It’s not been all fun and games though it’s been scary since my last update too. My dad went into hospital after becoming unwell. Luckily, he is on the mend, back home and now awaiting an appointment to have his gallbladder removed.

Cake

Naturally my life always seems to be filled with cake! These are the treats I have enjoyed since the last update. To be honest there was probably more cake than usual thanks to the Jubilee celebrations where lots of places were doing afternoon teas.

This was the spread at a local event to raise money for the church. We dragged my dad along too as he is also quite partial to cake.

Chester

We took part in the Stagecoach Bus Trip challenge so headed off to Chester at the weekend. You will be able to read all about how we got on once my blog post is approved by the company. I love walking on the Chester Walls.

We also revisited the Sick To Death attraction, my husband and I have been before but we wanted to see what the boys thought of it. There is quite a lot of interesting facts to learn but we probably only spent an hour there in total.

Blog Posts

I have lots more new lifestyle articles live on my blog. Whether you want to reduce stress, get on the property ladder with a poor credit score or choose a name for your baby you will find something engaging to read on my blog.

Eating Out

breakfast out

I think I need to rein it in as we have gone a little crazy with eating out lately. We have had cooked breakfasts, paninis and a ploughman’s lunch. My husband has Fridays off now and we make that our time as a couple which is working wonders for our relationship but probably not for our bank balance!

Jubilee

I couldn’t resist a photo with the queen (well the cardboard version anyway!).

Jubilee cutout

We celebrated the Jubilee in style with lots of edible treats mainly! Including these Jubilee sundaes which were so good!

I just had to buy the Jubilee cake from SPONGE. I think I was drawn into the fact it had the hidden treats inside…

Segway

We had a fantastic time at Tatton Park on the 25th of June taking part in a Segway experience. My eldest has been wanting to try them for quite some time. It was on our bucket list of experiences back in 2018. I am glad we finally managed to tick that one off. Segway Events make it lots of fun, we played games on the Segway, had challenges then a trail out on them. I wasn’t very fast on mine, but I still completed the course without falling off!

Birthday celebrations

hovercraft

My eldest turned 15. He had a wonderful time with friends for his birthday celebrations. We took them axe throwing, hovercrafting and firing crossbows at Hover Force. As birthdays go we spent a fair bit. But with all his lockdown birthdays he had I thought we would make it extra special and memorable this year.

I think that’s you all mainly caught up now! Hopefully I won’t leave it so long between updates going forward.
