Yes bit of a gap since my last weekly update which was week 16. I guess with such a big delay each time least I have more to say. It has mainly been a house hunting, form filling blur over the last month. Progress is being made with that but I will fill you in when everything is done and dusted and the ink is dry! We have had also made some lovely memories over the last few weeks. The highlight has to be the opportunity my eldest had driving a fire truck!

Driving A Fire Truck

This experience was a Christmas present off my parents with Young Driver, it costs £44.99. We have reviewed Young Driver before and found the driving lessons to be very well run. We had high hopes for this experience and it delivered! My eldest was in buzzing afterwards, he really enjoyed it! It’s only a short lesson, twenty minutes long. However its something memorable for children to try. I think it helps increase their confidence in driving having had the chance to handle different vehicles. Plus I think he thought it was quite fun to go round with the siren going!

British Motor Museum

Our experience was at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire. So naturally as we were already there we thought we would book tickets to go around the British Motor Museum too. It cost us £40 for an annual pass (normal entrance is upgraded if you sign up for gift aid), so if we happen to be in the area again we can return and get even more value out of our tickets. We spent a couple of hours going around the site. There was plenty of interesting vehicles to see. I would recommend booking this attraction if your planning on trying the driving a fire truck experience here.

There was also a small interactive section. The boys liked the little device that let you experience the difference suspension makes!

All About The Food

After that we headed for lunch at Hickory’s Smokehouse for lunch as we enjoyed that restaurant so much in Chester we thought we would try another branch! Any excuse for me to have my fill of pulled pork and Macaroni cheese! The boys were also impressed with the milkshakes and the giant onion rings.

The rest of the last few weeks have been filled with plenty of chances to eat out. I am not sure what has come over us! But I guess we do need to rein it in really, although it has been very enjoyable. I have made a point of not stepping on the weighing scales in some time either…

My husband and I went for lunch then tea and cake out. We are trying to prioritize time together and let work his take a bit of a back burner at times. My husband is definitely getting a better work life balance now which is much better for our relationship. It’s been a long time coming and a very bumpy road but we are hopefully getting there now.

My eldest had a really positive parents evening. I had a lift to the school with his friend’s mum so then we all went out for dinner at a restaurant of their choosing to celebrate. The food was lovely, even if the boys were in high spirits!

My eldest works a lot at weekends now but we had a chance to take him out for a treat when he finished. I had my favourite crepe with Nutella, strawberries and whipped cream!

I have quite a few more food pictures I could include! But I better stop there! I think I am getting extra calories just by seeing all the tasty food again…

Pupdate

Bella is doing amazingly still. Summer and Bella get on well, better with each passing week. We are still losing the occasionally sock she swipes from our clean washing pile! But she is very good with other dogs and people which is what really matters. Much more sociable and adaptable to change than Summer is. She can come with us everywhere and is always patient whilst we stop for refreshments.

Whilst always hopeful for her occasional treat of another dog ice cream again too!
