Week 14: Renewed Passports And Adventure Awaits!
So much has changed since my last weekly update post. My biggest highlight since the last update is getting our passports renewed, but more on that later.
I have left the letting agency, which felt like the right thing to do. The journey was too long each day for a relatively short shift, it was getting too expensive with fuel and wear and tear on my car. I have been able to transfer my small community job in the Co-op to my local store so that’s worked out really well. Plus I get to keep my discount card, which is super handy! You actually get 30% off Co-op own brands which is a decent saving.
I had planned to invest more time into my blog and that’s definitely something I need to kick start. The extra twenty hours working plus almost eight driving should be put to good use. Instead time seems to have disappeared in a blur of day to day chores. I need to be more focused again!
So what else have we been up to lately. Quite a lot as you can imagine given the distance between my weekly updates! The last one was on the 31st of December. Eeek!
Passports
Like I said we have renewed our passports. I was worried it was going to be an ordeal with the passport office about to strike but we had a quick turnaround! So now have a holiday booked to Italy which I am super excited about. It’s been three years since we last went abroad. COVID had a lot to answer for…
We were spending a fortune on UK breaks anyway like our last holiday at Sunridge Retreats, so we might as well adventure further afield!
Eating out
There has been a lot of eating out lately, probably a little too much as I have had more free time on my hands. The feature picture is our last curry night out with our lovely neighbours. I guess now we have our passports the focus should be on saving for our holiday instead!
For the last fortnight I have knocked treats on the head, I am trying to improve my health. So make the most of any cake pictures as they will be few and far between going forward! More often than not its fruit and Greek yoghurt these days! But I did manage to squeeze in a trip to Cinnabon before my good intentions kicked in! They are so gooey and I am obsessed with them.

We had a wonderful meal out using my new tastecard. We will be definitely doing more of that in future as the savings are quite good.
Turning Fourteen
My youngest turned fourteen, we did an escape room to celebrate. It was quite tricky this time, but we managed to Escape from Alcatraz with a few minutes to spare!!! Phew, otherwise it was the electric chair for everyone.
It’s was such a good deal with Houdini’s we had an escape room and two pizzas for £60, when usually you can buy £25 per person for an escape room. Good entertainment and some food in your belly not a bad trip out as a family!
Blogging
I have had a few different blog posts go live lately from gardening to dealing with stress. Plus lots of parenting articles, from why its important to teach your children history to learning about empathy.
A New Pet
JJ our budgie has a new friend! Okay its a plastic bird but he is in love. This toy might not look like much, but JJ spends ages kissing it and I feel glad he has some company! If you only have one budgie it might be worth getting one of these too.

House Maintenance
My husband has been clearing out the guttering. It was funny he was shaking the downpipe and got absolutely drenched when he loosened what ended up looking like a brick of mud! It’s time we did more around the house. Once the move was off the cards, it made sense to focus back on our property!

Giveaway
I am excited to be offering some giveaways again. In my weekly update I will start to add a simple form so one of my readers can win a prize. A little way of saying thank you for reading my posts. Starting today I have a £25 Amazon voucher to giveaway, just fill in the form below by the 9th of May.

It sounds like it’s all change with you, it makes sense leaving the letting agency and that’s good news about getting transferred to your local Co-Op.
How exciting to be going to Italy! I hope you have a fab time. x
Lovely to have you back again! Sounds like you made the right decision with your job and good that you were able to transfer your community job to your local Co-op. Glad you had a quick turnaround with renewing passports. We did the same earlier this year and were quite impressed how quickly the new ones came through. Lovely to have a holiday to Italy to look forward to. Hope you have a wonderful time. Happy belated birthday to your youngest – sounds like he had a good one. Glad JJ is so happy with his new plastic budgie friend. #project365
Hi again! I need to renew our passports and get one for N. Ours are about 11 years out of date, so it’ll be like doing new ones again. But I’m expecting N to have school trips abroad, and he really wants to go abroad on holiday. Maybe if I do everyone’s passports we might get the OH away with us. I’m also needing to get healthier again. I did 2 weeks then it went to pots, so after our mini break next week it’ll be back to it again.
Big changes! Hope you get to use the new passports soon! #project365
