Weekly update

Week 33: Meeting A Tortoise and Dinner Out

I was worried I wasn’t getting any pictures for this weekly update. But then fortunately the last few days of the week I managed to get some. The start of the week was mainly catching up on chores and blogging, which didn’t leave much chance for photos. Then it became more exciting. I met the cutest tortoise at my friends house, went out for dinner with friends and had a strawberry daiquiri at a new pop up cocktail bar!

Fundraiser

I went to a local fundraiser and bought some tasty cakes and raffle tickets. The raspberry sponge was a delightful!

I actually won a bottle of gin on the raffle, so it was a good result. Not a gin fan myself but my mum loves it, so will be a nice treat for her.

Dinner With Friends

curry

We went out for a curry with our neighbours. It’s been a while since our last meal out with them. Therefore, it was wonderful to catch up and the food was amazing as always. I had the honey and mango chicken again (it’s my go to meal!), vegetable rice and a garlic naan.

Blogging

It’s been quite a busy week in that respect and very travel focused! Travel is something I am very enthusiastic writing about, so it’s ideal for me. Whether you want tips for preparing for a flight with children, family holiday ideas or reasons to book a coach holiday to Spain, I have you covered. Over on my husband’s blog you can find some tips on making life as a parent less stressful.

Meeting A Tortoise

My friend is tortoise sitting so I got to meet the cute little lady. Victoria is so precious. My friend has grown quite attached and learnt so much about tortoises to take such good care of her.

Cocktail Bar

We stopped off at a cocktail bar with my husband’s cousin and his wife. Us ladies enjoyed a strawberry daiquiri. It was delicious, I loved the flavour, and it wasn’t too overpowering. I struggled with the strength of my banana daiquiri in Lake Garda it took some of the joy out of the drink!

Arcade

We also went to an arcade. I loved playing the giant sized Hungry Hippos game. It’s £1 each quickly spent but it did make me giggle. It’s not the best picture but I wanted you to see the scale of it. You sit on the hippo to operate it with the handle, its quite a good workout as you frantically try and get more balls over the other players. I came third so evidently I need more practice!

Hot Nuts

hot nuts for bird feeders

I had a bit of a giggle in the local hardware store when I saw this product pictured. Intrigued I had to read what it was about! Apparently, you spray it on the nuts for wild birds, so the squirrels stop pinching them.

Squirrels don’t like the chilli flavour whilst birds tolerate the capsicum chilli as it is completely tasteless to them. Apparently, it can be quite effective, well until the rain washes the flavour off the nuts. You really do learn something new every day! I never knew a product like this even existed. Let me know if you have tried it already?

So, that’s pretty much me for the week. Thursday is GCSE results day so basically I will just be holding my breath until then!
