I was thrilled to be sent the Maeve Pet Protection System to review. Once the product boxes were open it wasn’t long before we were all set up with the Roscoe stroller and ready for an adventure with our fur baby.

You use the QR code to access the easy to follow instructions or you can access them going direct to the TAVO website. It is handy as you do not have to worry about storing (or losing!) paper instructions.

First impressions were very positive. Everything was well designed, looked great and most importantly had the ability to keep our dogs (or cats if we had them!) very safe on their travels. Our pets mean the world to us, and we want the very best for them. Fortunately, TAVO are delivering a new standard of pet protection and it is evident in every little detail of the Maeve Pet Protection System.

Why you have to secure your dog in the car?

Legally you have to make sure your dog is restrained in the car so it cannot interfere with the drivers concentration. Unsafe driving behaviours with unrestrained dogs can be very dangerous, distracting drivers and causing accidents.

There are lots of different ways you can secure your dog in the car. However, I think the Maeve pet car seat (£500) is one of the best methods I have ever seen. When travelling you just close down the canopy knowing your dog is securely contained, leaving you to focus on getting to your destination safely.

You do not have to worry about them either as the Maeve mattress is very comfortable for them and they will most likely nod off and have a little nap, cocooned in their new favourite safe space. Enclosed spaces are not an issue for dogs because it reminds them of their ancestral den, giving them that feeling of privacy they crave. Plus, there are ventilation panels so no issues with airflow.

It was very reassuring having the additional memory foam side panel to attach to the carrier to protect your pet (added in the picture above). Plus, the durable EPP foam surrounds your pet, absorbing energy and dispersing impact, just in case an accident did ever happen.

It’s just worth noting that the Maeve car seat goes across two seats in the back of the car. So, depending on the size of your family that might be something you need to consider before making your purchase. Although we are a family of four and I do not see it as an issue. Mainly because our teenagers rarely want to come on adventures with us anymore. Fortunately, Bella is always happy to join us! Even more so now we have the Maeve Pet Protection System.

Premium Safety Features of the Maeve Pet Protection System With the Vehicle Base

The Maeve pet car seat is secured to the vehicle base (£175) and includes the same features found in premium children’s car seats. It was developed with years of engineering expertise making sure that the Maeve pet car seat is very rigid and secure for your travels. I like how the vehicle base goes green, so you know it’s in place correctly. Then, you don’t have to worry you haven’t correctly installed the base. TAVO really do make everything very user friendly and clear to understand.

Why Pet Strollers Are Important?

Bella was excited to hop in and have a ride in the Maeve pet car seat which I had secured onto the Roscoe stroller (£275) when we were out on a walk. Bella is only three so very energetic, however she still appreciated a chance to relax and rest her little legs. Especially when on a longer walk or on a particularly hot day like we were having as she could get some shade from the cover which we could pull further down when she finally decided to lie down.

I can imagine for older or infirm dogs investing in a pet stroller is much more important. They get a chance to still enjoy the passing scenery, soak up the sunshine and enjoy all the smells which help enrich their lives and makes each day meaningful for them. Even if their aches and pains mean they cannot walk long distances, they can enjoy the comfort of the cosy Maeve mattress and fluffy liner making their life better.

I was very pleased with the Roscoe stroller it was easy to manoeuvre. The back wheels are also a decent size so good at coping with different terrain. I really loved the attention to detail in the design, you have a cup holder, a slot for your phone and a handy organizer to store your dog’s favourite treats! Then you have a decent sized basket underneath the stroller. With plenty of storage space you could leave one hand free to even walk a second dog if you needed whilst you push the stroller.

Obviously you would not leave your dog unattended in the stroller. I just took a quick picture so you can see the stroller in all its glory!

The Roscoe stroller looks very luxurious with the cognac leather details. But I was happy to say that it is vegan leather, TAVO doesn’t just care about dogs they care about cows too! That’s a company that animal lovers will be keen to support I am sure.

What Else Does The Maeve Pet Protection System Offer?

The car seat can also double up as a dog bed so when you arrive at your destination so your dog has a comfy and safe spot to sleep. This is useful as you don’t have to find extra space in the boot to squeeze in their usual dog bed.

I am a BIG fan of the fact you get a choice of two mattresses and soft lining inserts (either black or white). Bella tends to leave a little trail of white hairs everywhere so goes, so I was delighted that the white lining helped hide them keeping the Maeve car seat looking pristine on our first outing. Choices like that do make a difference for dog owners and are appreciated.

Would I recommend the Maeve Pet Protection System?

I would wholeheartedly recommend the Maeve Pet Protection System if it is within your budget. It really is a very sophisticated design, packed with useful features, that delivers new levels of safety. Certainly, ones I have never seen in my previous 35 years of dog ownership.
