Week 41 of 2020: My Amazing Neighbours
I mentioned in last week’s update how my neighbour kindly gave me homemade cookies. Well this week a different neighbour rather generously gave me some lovely fresh tomatoes from their greenhouse. I am very blessed to live where I do, surrounded by the best neighbours. Especially when the tomatoes went perfectly with my cheese sandwich I was having for lunch. What excellent timing!
Home Comforts
The weather is getting colder. My cute dog loved getting wrapped up in a blanket for some extra comfort.
My husband has been keeping our log burner going. It sure throws out some heat. It’s my favourite spot in the house at the moment, in front of that toasty fire. Although it’s a room that does need decorating still. One day, I am sure we will get there.
Emily In Paris
This week I have binged watched Emily in Paris, it was easy to watch and very funny! Thank you for the recommendation Sim. I don’t usually watch TV in the day, I feel a little guilty when my husband is busy in work. But I couldn’t resist stopping until I got to the end.
Christmas Shopping
My husband had a day off this week so we thought we would make a start with our Christmas shopping. But I think we went a little too early! Most of the shops were still full of Halloween products and hadn’t really made much of a start putting out the Christmas goodies.
Anyway, it will be an excuse for my husband to take another day off soon and for us to try again! We enjoyed a gorgeous roast dinner out anyway! So, all was not lost. Feast your eyes on it below.
He also managed to spot the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Orange Giant Buttons in Tesco too. They were the perfect accompaniment to the BGT final.
Blog
This week I had a Small World of Warcraft board game giveaway launch. As the cold weather sets in we definitely play more board games as a family. I also have a blog post up about the dangers of too much screen time for your children. My two boys have probably played on their consoles a little longer than usual this week! Guilty parent alert.
Waffle
I also sneaked in a cheeky Nutella, strawberries, and cream waffle this week! My excuse for having it is that most places are very seasonal where I live, so I need to make the most of the waffles before they close for their extended winter break!

I’ve done all my Christmas shopping, it’s been wrapped and posted/handed out this week. I’ve not spoken to any of my neighbours since I got back from Dubai around 6 weeks ago, there’s no community spirit around here since the NHS clapped stopped, but I’m quite happy keeping myself to myself

How lovely to have some home-grown tomatoes. We only managed to grow a few and Thomas picked most of them before they ripened! Your dog looks very cosy wrapped in the blanket. I’m very impressed that you’re already making a start on Christmas shopping. I never tend to think about it until we’re well into November! #project366
I haven’t even thought about Christmas shopping yet ! Maybe I should make a start this week, as I’m on holiday – that would be one less thing to do in my manically busy working weeks ! I was going to watch Emily in Paris but someone told me i wasn’t very good – maybe I’ll give it a try then 🙂 That waffle, yummmm ! Get another before the end of the season, quick ! lol
We loved Emily in Paris, perfect candyfloss TV. I have just seen that Riviera is back too, so that will be on play in our house this week

Your neighbours seriously are the best, those tomatoes look so ripe and juicy, bet they were awesome… I’m now hankering over a bacon and tomato buttie!

Those waffles and tomatoes look so tempting! OMG your dog looks so adorable wrapped up like that. Emily in Paris does look like a light rom-com. I can already smell the roast from here. Yeah, Halloween hasn’t happened yet and you’re shopping for Christmas, it seems very early
