After the year we have all had its natural to want to make Christmas extra special. So, I thought it would be nice to include some tips to really get into the Christmas spirit in your home.

Table Décor

When it comes to table décor there are so many fun and festive things you can try. Traditionally red and green are the Christmas colours but there is nothing stopping you incorporating other colours from pastels to jewel tones if you wanted to spice things up a bit!

Why not attempt a back to nature theme with pinecones and greenery, the rustic look can be very comforting and welcoming? Or you could keep with a simple red and white candy cane colour scheme? If you prefer things cosy, then layer up the blankets on the seating arrangements and add flickering candles to the table set up.

Kitchen

With all the preparations for Christmas dinner you will no doubt be spending much more time in the kitchen, so you don’t want to miss out on decorating this room.

Invest in garlands with red berries and ribbons to create an impact without going overboard. These can hang from the kitchen cupboards so you still have plenty of space to prepare the food.

Hot Chocolate Station

Don’t forget to set up your own hot chocolate station to enjoy together as a family. You will need marshmallows, sprinkles, flavoured syrups and some festive mugs to drink from.

You can even develop the theme and have a section for Christmas treats too! With jars full of candy canes, gingerbread men, chocolate coins and Christmas cookies. What better way to get into the holiday spirit!

Invest in A Tree Skirt

If you want to make Christmas extra special, don’t forget the little details too. This year make sure you invest in a tree skirt. It doesn’t cost much yet finishes off your tree nicely, hiding those unsightly wires and stand.  If you’re not a fan of tree skirts, try a fluffy rug to add texture instead.

Living Room

When it comes to the living room bring out the festive throws to snuggle under. Other things you can try are curtain tie backs decorated with baubles or make your own decorations with dried orange slices which smell amazing especially with cloves added too! With all the bad weather we are having you want your living room to be as cosy as possible.

Christmas Centrepiece

Whether its on your coffee table, dining table or sideboard a Christmas centrepiece adds lots of Christmas charm to your home. Front Door

To make your Christmas extra special you cannot overlook your front door. It is the first introduction to your home after all, so you need to create the right impression of what you have planned for the rest of your home.

Doorscaping is growing in popularity, many now have doorways framed with elaborate garlands dotted with baubles, full sized Nutcracker figures and giant candy canes. Some even add a giant bow to their front door. However just adding a wreath and two smaller trees to either side of your door can work wonders!
