Organising the bathroom isn’t one of the most difficult tasks in the world, but if you have a lot of supplies and a small space, or a big family for example, it can be quite tough to get a sense of calm in this space.
We’ve come up with some tips to doing just that to hopefully help make your life a little easier!
First things first – have a clear out
When it comes to getting any space organised, it’s a good idea to have a clear out so that you can get rid of anything things you no longer need, want or use. After all, there’s no point organising stuff you don’t actually want anymore! This will give you optimum space too for things you do actually need.
Be ruthless and get rid of those bottles with tiny bits in them that you’ve been holding onto forever, the samples you brought back from your holiday a year ago and anything that’s out of date. Another good rule is to ask yourself whether you’ve used the product in 6 months or not – if not, you can live without it.
Utilise your space for storage
Making the most of your wall space is a great way to save space; especially if you don’t have much room at your disposal. Shelves are great, as are wall cabinets (especially for things you need to keep out of reach of little hands). There’s a wall cabinet clearance here that’s worth checking out.
Another ingenious way to utilise space for storage is to think outside the box with products such as this shower curtain with mesh pockets, for storage of things like shampoo and shower gels. This is a great way to eliminate clutter and keep things tidy.
Invest in some good storage solutions
Other storage solutions that will be a bit of a lifesaver in terms of getting your bathroom organised won’t have to cost you the earth. Use things like upcycled old jars to store your beauty essentials, cheap baskets from pound stores and wall hooks to store your electricals tidily. There are some great ideas on Pinterest that are worth taking a look at.
Keep things clean
Keeping your bathroom clean as well as tidy is important for helping to create a feeling of organisation, calm and serenity. It’s a good idea to have a little box of cleaning supplies handy in your bathroom so that you can keep on top of those pesky cleaning tasks daily/every few days.
Have supplies ready for unannounced guests
If your loved ones regularly turn up unannounced, it’s a good idea to have some things in place so that you’re prepared for their unscheduled arrival. Things like spare towels folded up on shelves are a good idea and even look great in terms of decor, too.
If you have a lot of samples from things like magazines or hotels, you could even have a little basket of them ready for your guests to use when they stay at yours too, which is a nice added touch.
