Our Easter Holidays 2017

Easter holidays

I really can’t believe the Easter holidays are over and the boys are back in school with their first day under their belts! It’s back to routine with after school swimming lessons, football training and karate. But we did get up to some lovely things over the holidays.

The main one being our review trip to Butlins Minehead.

Heading to Somerset meant the boys could also call in on their granddad on the way there! Our family is dotted all around.  It makes visits quite tricky but all the more precious when they do actually happen.

Beach Clean

We were involved in a beach clean which is something really rewarding to help with. It’s scary how bad beaches get with plastic and other rubbish. It’s not only about cleaning the beach but realising the importance of changing our habits.  Making sure we recycle and use items more than once!  It’s our children’s futures so we need to take this problem seriously.  Tackling it head on.

Wales Comic Con

The start of the holidays kicked off with Wales Comic Con, which suited the boys perfectly.  Lots of retro gaming, meeting characters, owls and even handling a snake made some lasting memories.

We have been up to our usual tricks with lots of walking and geocaching to tire the boys out. They have so much energy that we like to keep them active, we have talked more about our geocaching adventure over on the Reluctant Traveller blog this time we managed to find 15 caches. Not much exciting treasure but the boys seem to enjoy searching more now they are a little older, it’s a shame a lot of finds go quite mouldy in the boxes!!!

With the boys at school though it’s easier to get back into blogging.  It’s tricky juggling working from home and managing their needs. My evenings can free up again so I can watch TV and relax a bit more. Hubbie and I have been completely hooked on The Wrong Man’s well worth a watch!!!

The house is much quieter, but we have more adventures to look forward to in May!  Until then I need a rest after packing so much into the Easter holidays.
