Our Night Away at The Belmont Llandudno

On Friday night we headed to Llandudno for a Buyagift Deluxe Gourmet Escape I had booked.  These breaks are such good value.  Priced at £149.99 we had dinner, an overnight stay at a wonderful hotel in Llandudno and breakfast included the following morning.  We picked the Belmont Llandudno, it was a gorgeous boutique hotel right on the seafront.  It is good that there are hotels that let you have a weekend booking.  Most accept bookings in the week but still enough to give you some choice.

Indulging in Afternoon Tea

I love Llandudno but sadly we did end up going away right in the middle of storm Callum.  We got drenched but did enjoy going out for afternoon tea at the sister hotel of the Belmont.  Llandudno Bay Hotel do a wonderful afternoon tea.  It is presented beautifully on a picnic bench which is a novel way to do things!  Then we decided to hit the shops which did give us some shelter from the pelting rain.

I was excited to have some quality time with hubbie.  The kids are becoming more challenging now they are getting closer to being teens!  The backchat can be exhausting at times, so a break away can be quite therapeutic.  Just the tonic we needed!

Our stay at the Belmont Llandudno

The staff at the Belmont Llandudno were very friendly.  For our evening meal as part of our Deluxe Gourmet Escape we were entitled to spend £25 each on food.  Drinks you had to pay separately so it made sense to try and eat as much as you could to get your values worth.  That allowance for food was generous enough to cover a starter, main and dessert.

The food was plentiful, I couldn’t finish the fish and chips as the battered cod was huge!  The waffles I had for dessert covered with Nutella and accompanied with caramelised banana and clotted cream was heavenly!  Even if you are not staying at the hotel itself its worth booking a meal there.

The hotel room had everything we needed.

It was tastefully decorated, and we had a comfortable stay.

The room refreshments were contained in a lovely little black box.  Inside you even had the option to have a Galaxy hot chocolate.  It’s nice seeing effort like this given to the little details that can really make your hotel stay something quite memorable.  We didn’t have a seafront room sadly as I believe they have binoculars in them.  Although with the bad weather the view wasn’t up to the usual standard, so I don’t feel like we missed too much.

A Decent Breakfast

The following morning, we headed to breakfast.  They had fresh fruit, cereal and pastries and you could order a meal cooked to order from the breakfast menu.  My husband was on a restricted diet that day, so I thought it would be unfair to tuck into a cooked breakfast in front of him.  Instead I went for the crushed avocado, spinach and poached egg on brown bread.  Not my usual choice but still very tasty and set me up for the day nicely.

The staff kindly made my husband scrambled egg which wasn’t on the menu, but it meant he could enjoy breakfast too!

With Christmas on the horizon Buyagift vouchers are a great option.  Why not give a frazzled mum you know the gift of a night away!
