This half term holiday we should have been in Dubai but my eldest was so poorly we couldn’t travel! Fortunately, we had travel insurance. But naturally we still felt devasted! We were all so excited for our trip. Once we finally get our money back, we will have to think about our next holiday. Dubai will be out of the question sadly as it gets hotter and hotter over the next few months. By May we really couldn’t cope with the 38 degrees heat!
My eldest mentioned going to the Caribbean whilst my husband was keen to go back to Florida. Although part of me is tempted to stick with a UK staycation! We were so close to jetting off to the sun I don’t want to deal with that kind of disappointment again…
Anyway, I saw this quiz by Stay in Cornwall that showed that most people couldn’t really tell the difference between exotic destinations and those found in Cornwall. It goes to show you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a beautiful backdrop! Plus, no security checks, long flights or missing suitcases to contend with does sound incredibly tempting. It’s such a faff queuing at the airport. So many people holding the line up because they haven’t bothered reading up about hand luggage restrictions. They are still trying to take liquids through.
Despite all this I wasn’t entirely sure that Cornwall could compete with more tropical destinations. I was eager to attempt the quiz to see for myself.
Can You Tell The Difference Quiz?
Why not try your luck with the can you tell the difference quiz?
I scored 2/10 so I really didn’t have a clue. I really thought I would have done better. It has convinced me that given good weather there really is no reason to travel further afield. Cornwall has been on my wish list for a while now. There are so many attractions I want to see. On top of that the coastlines and blue skies can rival anything we have seen on our previous holidays.
Why I would love to visit Cornwall?
The following attractions are the ones I am more interested in:
The Eden Project – the biomes look so impressive! We would love to explore the different rainforest environments. The Canopy walkway looks like the ones you see abroad!
Minack Theatre – a stunning sight, a theatre carved into the cliff with breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Trebah Gardens – with so many palm trees you could easily think you are in a more tropical location.
Cornwall has so much to offer! I don’t feel quite so sad about Dubai now.
