It’s been quite a week. Sometimes I worry I won’t have much to say but this week feels like it’s been jam-packed. We especially enjoyed pottery painting. It helped end the week on a high! Like last week when we went to Greenwood Forest Park. I am trying to organize something special each week because school will be back before we know it (assuming everything goes ahead as planned that is!).

The week started with a neighbour kindly popping round with a homegrown cucumber and tomatoes for me.  Awhile back they kindly offered all the neighbours tomato plants. But as I am not green fingered, I declined. So instead they kept my tomato plant safe in their green house and said instead I could enjoy the tomatoes it grows!

Monster Hunt And Fairy Doors

We don’t have many stones to rival the impressive Totty Snake you have seen over on Sim’s Life blog. Our stone snake doesn’t seem to have captured anywhere near the same level of interest. However, what has really taken off in our area is a bit of a monster hunt where you can spot colourful stone monsters lurking in the woods.

Since it first began, they keep adding to the theme and its quickly gaining popularity! I love that it encourages us to get out for a walk just to see the new additions. The latest contribution has been fairy doors. So, between the monsters and the fairy doors we have plenty to spot on our walks.

I decided to do a couple of mine own to add to the monster hunt.

Walk

We went out for a walk with my friend and took carrots this time for the friendly horses. The boys were pleased as the little farm shop had fudge for the first time, so they insisted we bought that!

Sadly, that meant there was no cake for me!

Pottery Painting

We enjoyed our pottery painting session this week. My husband Sean at Hubby Helps and I both did a Nordic Santa. We thought they might be nice as Christmas decorations. The boys did a fighter plane and a monster truck. I love pottery painting its so relaxing. Although my husband is so much better at the fine detail! I tend to go over lines but was happy with how it turned out. It will be fired now so the colour will be much richer/brighter afterwards.

We then went for lunch. I had seen a pub that had built these little outdoor structures so you could eat out safely. It was that which captured my attention, I had no clue what the food would be like.

Fortunately it was fabulous. My eldest had a huge fish and chips portion. He surprised me and almost finished it!

Hospital

I had a trip to the hospital for a minor procedure. I had been told that I would need to wait over a year to be seen by the NHS. So, in the interest of getting it sorted much quicker we opted to go private. It seems a shame spending money on something that would ultimately be free. But delaying for so long could have led to future problems. Therefore it seemed like a sensible decision to just face the outlay and crack on for peace of mind. We celebrated with our first Chinese takeaway since lock-down.

Rowing Machine

We have invested in a rowing machine. We are hoping it will encourage us all to be healthier as a family. What I have found is it is making me look more closely at the calories in treats because I know how hard I have to work on the rowing machine to burn it off!

Pool Table

It was great that the pool table is getting used again! I always resent it taking up so much space when its not used regularly. But its been a real asset lately!
