Weekly update

Week 39 of 2020: Grandparents Grand Outings

I was wondering what I would actually have to write about this week. However, we did have one nice day out with the Grandparents Grand Outings campaign. But I didn’t catch up with friends like I did in week 38 so that meant a shortage of photos.  So, it’s mainly been household chores this week which don’t make for exciting photos!

Blog Work

I have spent a fair bit of time making sure ALL my blog posts have a focus keyword. I still have more SEO work to complete on my site. However, I do feel in a better position than before. When I get a bee in my bonnet about something I tend to knuckle down and want to get it sorted ASAP. Next is making sure any orange posts for readability or SEO turn green. So, I will be cracking on with that next week. Wish me luck! It’s a good thing I have Sim keeping me focused as it was with her kind help I even added categories to the top of my blog! Really with so many years blogging under my belt I should know more than I do… but hey ho! I am always eager to learn.

We were sent a fun card game to review this week. Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza was quite entertaining. But I still haven’t managed to win a game! My reflexes need a speed boost if I am ever going to have a chance of winning.

Grandparents Grand Outings

Fortunately, cake did still get to feature this week! Red Letter Days kindly gifted my parents and the boy’s afternoon tea for a campaign about Grandparents Grand Outings. With National Grandparents Day coming up on the 4th of October they wanted to show families getting together to make special memories. We headed to Ruthin Castle which is a gorgeous building and had a very tasty spread to enjoy!

Afterwards we had a walk around the grounds in an effort to burn off some of the calories.

They had lots of peacocks wondering about. I braved going close enough to get a photo. My husband isn’t keen on peacocks, he was chased by one as a child, so I was a bit tentative getting close to it in case it gave chase.

Walk

We had another walk as a family. I thought I would see if anything had been added by the group doing rock monsters. This time the theme seemed to be fairies and we saw this sweet little creation. They really are a creative bunch.

I also liked that they had painted stone noughts and crosses set up for people to play. Although I think I am more enthusiastic than the boys to look around. They prefer climbing trees these days.
