Week 43 of 2020: Firebreak and New Finds
Week 43 seemed much quieter than week 42. I was busy I guess but I didn’t manage to catch up with friends as we were running the boys to and from school. I suppose I should have been making the most of my last bit of freedom as our firebreak started on Friday at 6pm. All of Wales is now in quite a strict lockdown! I think it might feel like a very long half term holiday.
We did manage to get in one quick shopping trip too. I bought the boys these Percymas pies from M&S. The boys loved them, but I wasn’t as keen. A bit too sweet for me.

I can cope with certain restrictions, like the pubs being closed and restaurants only serving take out, what I will find hard is not being allowed to visit my parents for a catch up. Not even outdoors! Obviously, we still deliver supplies when they need them but it’s strictly a quick drop and go! Also, I can’t meet my friends for social distanced walks followed by pancakes or cooked breakfast either.
Walk
We seem to be having the most dreadful weather at the moment. So, I don’t feel particularly inclined to get outdoors. But I did insist the boys got some fresh air today, even though we ended up getting rather soaked. We did however spot some nice little things before the downpour that made it worthwhile. This week I have enjoyed making a family meal with Schwartz recipe mix I was sent and I have a new giveaway live! So do check that out if you fancy a chance of winning a Wish Upon A Unicorn DVD. Lots of packages with gifted products are starting to arrive for a Christmas gift guide I need to get live. Simone and I were particularly taken with the Rudolf reindeer cake we had in one delivery! It was very chocolaty and indulgent. What a great little treat to cheer you up over the festive period. Plus, it was rather cute.
The nature activities and paintings are so sweet. A lovely idea for kids on a walk. I used to work at Schwartz – still buy some of the mixes for easy, lazy teas.
Not sure what the Welsh lockdown will achieve and how they work out what is essential and what is not. To me alcohol and cigarettes are not essential…..but hope you mange through fine.
It is hard to not be able to meet with people, been the same here for a while now.

The nature trail projects are fantastic, love the caterpillar/butterfly especially, so cute.
The lockdowns are so confusing, with inconsistent rules and directives.
Our weather was pretty abysmal too in the last week, it was raining every day.
The chocolate reindeer cake looks good, and I bet my guys would love those Percy pig tarts.
I have been reading about the lockdown in Wales and I hope it helps the situation.
The weather has been awful but I made my girls go out today and we all feel great for it. What cute crafts. Those stones are so pretty. x
I’m grateful not to be in Wales at the moment, I’d really miss my ability to walk most of the day with Bob and not being able to see anyone, as I’m on my own, mind you I’ll have to do isolation again soon, with the travel I have planned ahead

It’s hard not being able to see family, especially when you can’t even meet outdoors. I do love all the Percy Pig themed goodies but I’m with you on them being a little too sweet. I love all the painted rocks and the pine-cone fairies. That Rudolph cake looks delicious! #project366

That Rudolph cake was epic, but it was all about the mince pies for me… they were stunning and seemed to disappear very quickly! 😉
Those treasure found on your walk are amazing, someone local is so creative, I’m jealous of their talents! How lovely that they have done that though, it’s the small things for sure! Glad you got a trip in to M&S before your crazy firebreak situation, I haven’t spotted those Percy Pigpies but they do look cute, will certainly be looking out for them!
It must be so hard having your parents so close but not being able to actually see them 🙁 Hopefully the firebreak sitation will be over quickly… only a few more days now I think and then you can enjoy some time with them again! 🙂 Sim x
Love the natural artworks especially the life cycle of the butterfly and cute bugs: I never seem to find the right sized or shaped stones so have never painted any 🙁 #project366
Ive just been looking at chocolate christmas cakes, I feel they maybe the way forward. I didn’t even realise you could get percy pig cakes. Will have to look for them. Loving all the painted bugs. I am hoping to have some more time to get crafty during this second lockdown so may make some for the boys.

Cute pinecone! I hope the covid situation settles down. It’s a shame you aren’t allowed to meet family and friends. Wow, the artwork is amazing! The cake does look very indulgent.
