Week 7 of 2021: Half Term is Over
I feel a little sad half term is over! I am not quite ready to get back into the swing of homeschooling just yet. We are fortunate today is an INSET day so we can be eased back into the week though! Phew. Maybe by tomorrow my homeschooling mojo will be restored.
In my last weekly update, I mentioned how we hoped the decorating might be finished. Well, it hasn’t… we decided that we needed to do a lot more sanding before we could continue painting. My husband and I have been at it for hours! I am hoping the finish will look better for our combined efforts.
I had planned that we would have more walks over half term but that didn’t really happen either. To be honest other than sanding walls and eating cake I am not quite sure where the week went! The boys have been adamant they be allowed to game a lot more as it was their rest week, so I guess whilst we sanded, they gamed.
Reviewing
This week I was lucky enough to review some fine food! I had a selection of products sent from Pantry House an online artisan food store. In there was a Bottled Baking Co. baking mix so we made that at the weekend! The traybake tasted so good when it came out of the oven it was quickly demolished!

I also had a brownie mug baking kit sent from Bad Brownie. That was such an indulgent treat, it was so chocolatey my sugar cravings were well and truly satisfied!
I have got two competitions live on my blog, one to win Baylis & Harding Royale Garden products and another to win the board game UK Alias.
What Else Have We Been Up Too
We have been playing Mexican Train a lot, this domino game from Tactic Games is now a firm family favourite. It’s one board game everyone is pleased to play at the moment.
The gingerbread kits were made. I love the little moustache of this decorated gingerbread man.

We were kindly given some homemade blueberry muffins by our neighbour. These tasted amazing and had a lovely crunchy top on them. You can see a photo as my feature picture. My neighbour really has quite a talent in the kitchen. I envy her skill. She has said when this is over, she will have to give me a few lessons.
We had a bit of fresh air here and there but not anywhere near as much as I hoped.

What did you all get up to over half term?

Good luck with the home schooling. Today hasn’t been too bad for us. I think the school went easy on us.
It sounds like the decorating it dragging on. Good luck with getting it finished.
What a cutie the gingerbread man is. x
The weather was so miserable over half term, we didn’t go out at all other than a bit in the garden with the tennis rebounder, although N did go out on the farm quite a bit. Hope the decorating gets finished soon.
Love the gingerbread man. Whenever we attempt to make them they just look strange! Or we end up breaking their arms/legs!
Half term was glorious in terms of a respite from home learning but the weather was terrible! Love your baked goods. #project365
I was the same I didn’t want it to end either. Although this week has not been that bad. Sounds like you enjoyed a lot of wonderful food over half term. The gingerbread man looks fantastic.
Love that gingerbread man. The weather was just rubbish generally wasn’t it #365
The Bottled Baking Co. cakes look great – I think we’ve made those ones and they were very yummy. Love the gingerbread man too. #project365
Great food photos this week. I really don’t know what happened to our half term either. I keep trying to kickstart my husband into decorating lol #365
I have spent a fortune with the Pantry House since being introduced to it – some fab products and we love the baking bottles. Let’s hope the decorating is finished soon
