If you are at a bit of a loose end as the lockdowns have continued why not try these unique hobbies instead.

Target Crossbow Shooting

If you have enjoyed archery in the past why not do a search for the best affordable crossbow and give that a try instead. It is a challenge because you have to be quite strong to handle the bow. But once you build up your strength it does get easier.

I think the reason this makes my list of unique hobbies is mainly down to Daryl from the Walking Dead. He always manages to look completely awesome with his signature crossbow. We just won’t factor in the reload time and the number of arrows he loses along the way!

Extreme Ironing

Seriously who knew that was a thing! The idea is you iron something whilst also taking part in an extreme sport! I find ironing so dull it definitely might be more fun if I had to do it whilst in a canoe or as I parachute out of a plane! With local restrictions though it would probably get as rock and roll as ironing in a field of sheep. In rural Wales with a 5 mile distance travel limit my iron and I won’t be doing anything particularly exciting!

Learn How To Cook

Stemmler Meats have an extensive recipe section to give you culinary inspiration. So why not spend your time in lockdown learning to cook! Taking up cooking as a hobby might not seem particularly challenging to some. It could be what you do every day to feed your family. But when you see it as hobby you can try experimenting with foods from different cultures and being much more creative. Why not see if you can cook a meal that also doubles as a work of art! Anything to make it more of a challenge.

Toy Adventures

Basically, you picture a toy on an adventure. I think it is quite a cute concept, but I don’t think there would be enough of a challenge. Unless you take the picture the toy whilst extreme ironing on your snowboard! Plus, your adventures might be a little restricted until lockdown is over.

Couponing

I love the idea of this. Some people seem to save a fortune getting all their coupons to stack when they do there shopping. Then getting a massive food shop reduced to like 10 dollars. But whenever I find a coupon the terms and conditions seem so restrictive, and they never stack!

Painting Rocks

I have written about getting the most of rock painting before. I think this is something really rewarding to try. The challenge is making the designs look good, just don’t forget to spray with varnish to preserve your creation afterwards. Our local community are really good for hiding painted rocks for people to find. It can make lockdown walks more interesting.

Soap Carving

A nice calm activity you can do from home. But there is an element of challenge, will you be able to shape your bar of soap into something more interesting. You don’t need much to get started, some cheap soap, scrapers and peelers and then your away. You can wet your finished carving with a little water just to get a smoother finish.
