My eldest son has just started noticing brands.  Before he would happily wear pretty much anything I bought.  He was very easy to shop for as he never grumbled about what kidswear purchases I made.  But as his friends have become more discerning he has also wanted to add a couple of named sports brands to his wardrobe.

Naturally brands are more expensive so its worthwhile shopping around if your child starts to be more fashion conscious.  I suppose I was quite lucky I had control over his wardrobe until he reached 11.  It did make things very easy, no morning battles about what he was going to wear.  I even get away with dressing them in the same tops at times, although I am not sure how long I will get away with that.  I don’t purposely twin them its just they like similar clothes so end up with the same purchases.

With my boy going off to secondary school in September this summer he is showing more teenage tendencies already.  He has a better idea of who he is, rather than being an extension of his mum and dad.  He has his own personality and likes and dislikes.  So, I am trying to give him a bit more freedom making his own decisions.  I guess it’s no surprise that extends to the clothes he wears.

My Son’s Kidswear Wish-list

I let him to create me a kidswear from Fashion World Wishlist so I could get a better understanding of his tastes.  He did surprise me and still added a Pokémon design so part of him is still my little boy who likes character wear.  I am glad the child I knew hasn’t disappeared completely!  I remember one mum who dressed her child as a teenager from a toddler age as she despised character wear.  But we are all different and each to their own.

My son also picked out a Liverpool top as he says this is his premiership team.  He normally likes Barcelona, however he has decided to branch out and follow a UK team too.  We have been around the football ground in Liverpool as it’s the team his younger brother supports.

Both my boys like slogan t-shirts.  He chose the Legend one as he is quite confident and that reflects his personality!  The splatter effect is quite eye catching too.  Not bad for £10.

The Adidas boots are bright and colourful so caught his attention.  Everyone seems to have football shoes with these little socks incorporated now.  I am not so keen but then again I don’t have to wear them!  I know from what his friends are wearing it’s all the rage!  So if it makes him happy then who am I to complain.

Then we have an adidas hoodie for good measure with the bold logo for everyone to see.  It has surprised me though its still a balanced wish-list, fortunately not every addition was an expensive brand!
