Weekly update

Week 30 of 2020: Fishing and Friendship

I had such a lovely week, with eating out and going fishing. However I think the highlight definitely had to be meeting my buddy and her daughter from Sim’s Life. She was holidaying in Llandudno and we have been chatting nonstop throughout lockdown but had yet to meet in person. You always worry how that first face to face meeting might go. But she is the most generous, kind, and genuine person you would be lucky enough to meet! I feel really blessed to have a Sim in my life. Check out the gorgeous flowers she gave me below.

Also, if I go very quiet on my blog next week you can blame Sim because she has got me hooked on The Real Housewives of New York City! I actually don’t mind my husband from Hubby Helps gaming now if it means I can binge watch that instead.

Out for Dinner

We had dinner out for the very first time this week. It was so good too. We have had a fair few takeaways in lockdown but this was different. It was lovely having waiter service and being able to sit in their restaurant garden. You cannot eat indoors in Wales yet, although that is changing very soon, if all is well.

Afternoon Tea

Would it be a weekly update from me if it didn’t feature cake! Check out this gorgeous afternoon tea I ordered.

Blogging

Blog wise I have tried to get a few more competitions lined up! So do check them out I have a swingball, JumpingCLAY set, Baylis & Harding Lemon Meringue products and a summer boredom buster pack to giveaway. I even entered a few twitter competitions lately and a prize actually arrived this week! I think it might spur me on not only to host giveaways but to start entering them again.

Fishing

At the beginning of the week we went fishing. My eldest son has been fishing for a while now. But my youngest usually gets bored and finds it hard to focus for long whenever we go. But this time he impressed us all as he managed to catch 15 fish! They were all fairly small, however he was proper pleased with himself.

We were fishing on a pleasure lake, so the fish were all returned to their home after being caught. I also made sure we bought some fish first aid antibacterial antiseptic spray as well to make the fish feel more comfortable with the whole unhooking experience. Then it was a very quick photo and straight back into the water.

We picked a lovely place to fish, they even had cooked breakfast deliveries to your peg! Later on, I ordered a coffee cake. Fishing can be quite relaxing just soaking up the atmosphere and eating all the café food! Well… until the lines get tangled and you have to spend ages getting them apart! My friend and I were kept quite busy with untangling duty of the boy’s lines.

On the plus side everyone was nicely spaced out and respectful of social distancing, so it felt like a safe activity to do as a family. There was some very friendly people about, one guy explained that the boat he had on the water was actually a bait boat and it helped him target a certain fishing area by tipping out ground bait where he needed it. I thought he was just playing with the boat to keep himself entertained in between fishing, how wrong was I!

Beach

We visited the beach and I found a little giraffe hiding in the sand. It was a warm day and I even braved a swim! It was okay if you kept moving around. Not many had ventured into the sea, but I couldn’t let the kids have all the fun!
